The 2023 Ford Maverick has been announced. It now gets the Tremor package for better off-road capability. Available in XLT and Lariat grades, the Tremor package adds the Trail Control system, revised front and rear springs, new shocks, and a 1.0-inch suspension lift. The truck also gets a heavy-duty transmission cooler and upgraded half shafts. A new AWD system now includes a twin-clutch rear-drive unit with a differential lock.
Adding the Tremor package adds unique design cues to further differentiate the truck. These include tow hooks with Tremor Orange accents, 17-inch gray and orange wheels, and all-terrain tires. The Maverick Tremor includes blacked-out Ford logos, headlights, and taillights. It also comes with a revised lower front fascia and skid plates for improved off-road capability. Inside, it adds Black Onyx seats with Tremor logos and Tremor Orange interior accents.
2023 Ford Maverick Tremor: How Much Extra?
The Tremor Off-Road package costs $2,995 and is exclusive to trucks with the 2.0-liter turbo-four. That engine makes 250 hp and 277 lb-ft of torque going through an eight-speed automatic transmission. Additionally, you can add the Tremor Appearance package, which includes a Carbonized Gray roof, side mirror covers, and black side graphics on the hood and lower body. This package costs an extra $1,495 on top of the Tremor Off-Road package
Order books for 2023 Ford Maverick Tremor open this September with production starting in the fall. Like before, an electrified variant comes standard with a 191-hp hybrid system shared with the Escape. However, that model remains FWD only. If you’re looking for AWD and a hybrid powertrain, you’ll need to wait for the plug-in hybrid variant. That model reportedly uses the same powertrain as the Lincoln Corsair Grand Touring. Instead of a mechanical AWD system, it uses e-AWD, employing a second electric motor on the rear axle for additional traction.
